Syllabus

Course Objective:

This course aims to teach students the fundamentals of radar systems.

Course content:

Basic radar structures and radar principles, range measurements, Range ambiguity, radar equation and radar cross section (RCS), CW and FM radars, pulse and MTI radars, range detection and resolution, signal detection and match filtering, MTI and Doppler radars, CW Doppler radar PRI types, stagger PRF processing, radar tracking, tracking types, accuracy of tracking, radar signal detection, match filtering, radar clutter, constant false alarm rate (CFAR) radar.

Grading Policy: 50% Midterm exam + 50% Final exam.

Midterm exam=Student presentations every other week.
